Voice and Character in Poetry: A Workshop for Adults with Anna Lewis

Date/Time
22/07/2017
10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Location
Dylan Thomas Centre

We often hear about the importance of developing a distinctive “voice” in poetry – but what if you want to explore different perspectives in your writing? This workshop will look at how we can expand the range and depth of our own unique voices by experimenting with alternative personas and points of view.

Anna Lewis’s new pamphlet, ‘A White Year’, is out now from Maquette. Set over the course of a year in the Iron Age lake village at Glastonbury, these poems piece together glimpses of life and death in the village against a background of troubling environmental change. Her debut full-length collection, ‘Other Harbours’, was published by Parthian in 2012. ‘The Blue Cell’ – poems on the lives of early medieval Welsh saints – came out from Rack Press in 2015.
