Philip returns home after four years of fighting in the Great War, with a forced maturity that belies his years. But his guardian, Uncle James, has beliefs that predate the horrors of the Somme. And, importantly, his jam company needs fresh initiative. A A Milne’s rarely performed gem is a perceptive comedy on the gap between generations.
