‘Perhaps after I’ve gone, someone will write the truth about me’, wrote Eluned Phillips to a friend.
Born on the same day as Dylan Thomas, Eluned Phillips (1914 – 2009) was the only Welsh woman poet to win the Crown twice at the National Eisteddfod.
Like Dylan, she made a name for herself in America. She was also a scriptwriter, librettist, raconteur and friend to Augustus John, Picasso and Edith Piaf, amongst others.
Join us as Menna Elfyn discusses her new biography, Optimist Absoliwt: Cofiant Eluned Phillips, in this predominantly English language event.
