‘No Book Ever Ends…’

This year marks 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, the World’s No.1 storyteller (at least we think so!).

Best known for writing popular children’s stories like The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl was also a spy, ace fighter-pilot, chocolate historian and medical inventor.

Born in Cardiff of Norwegian descent, Roald Dahl (1916–1990) was one of the most inventive, mischievous, and successful storytellers. His stories are currently available in 58 languages.

This summer we’re proud to be celebrating Roald Dahl’s special contribution to literature with a week full of gloriumptious events and activities at the Dylan Thomas Centre.

Highlights include:

  • Phizzwizarding Dream Jars – a drop-in workshop for young families creating dream-catching jars to catch terrible Trogglehumpers!
  • Masters of Invention Poetry Workshop – a special creative writing workshop for children and young people aged 8-13 years.
  • ‘Make of Mischief, Master of Horror, Inventor of Monster’ – a creative writing workshop for adults focussing Roald Dahl’s characterisation, the surreal and macabre.
